The introduction of online recharge facility for smart cards by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has evoked a positive response. Figures by DMRC show that from May 9 to 16, a total of 2,200 commuters have used the online recharge facility, with their transactions amounting to Rs 3.85 lakh. Most commuters validated their cards at Barakhamba Road Metro station. DMRC said till now, the Add Value Machine, used to refill cards at stations after customers have paid online, has been installed in 13 Metro stations. These are Dilshad Garden, Shahdara, Welcome, Seelampur, Shastri Park, Pragati Maidan, Karkarduma, Nirman Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Barakhamba Road, R K Ashram Marg, Jhandewalan and Rajendra Place.
