Secunderabad: The Zonal Railway Training Institute, Moula Ali celebrated its 44th Annual Day today i.e. 7th December 2016 at Open Air Auditorium in its premises. N. Madhusudana Rao, Chief Operations Manager, SCR was the Chief Guest on the occasion. P. Ganeswara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR presided over the function. Smt. K. Padmaja, Chief Transportation Manager (General & Perspective Planning) and several other officials, faculty members, instructors and trainees participated in the large gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, N. Madhusudana Rao stated that Safety Record of SCR is best on Indian Railways and this has to be carried forward. Raising concerns over the Safety the Chief Operations Manager called upon the trainees to avoid unsafe things and shortcuts. He reiterated to trainees to run the trains with a single aim of taking the passenger to their destinations Safely, Soundly and Timely. Further, he asked the Refresher course trainees to share the problems faced in the field with the faculty so that a proper curriculum addressing those issues are prepared and taught up to the ensuing trainees. The Chief Operations Manager along with other dignitaries released Annual Training Programme-2017 and also Operating & Commercial Study Materials of ZRTI for the year 2017.
P. Ganeswara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR appealed to trainees to take the training programme seriously and do not found wanting. He advised the trainees to upgrade their knowledge suiting to the fast changing technological trends taking place in the Railways. Smt K. Padmaja, stated that the institute is inculcating safety and alertness among staff by formulating various courses.
Earlier, P. Ramesh Babu, Principal, ZRTI presented the annual report of the ZRTI. The capacity utilization of the institute has been on an increasing trend with 65% in 2015-16 and 81% in 2016-17 recording an increase of 20 percent over previous year. He stated that during 2016-17 till November, 125 courses were conducted and trained 4773 candidates. Further he stated that the institute is also catering to the training needs of other Zonal Railways too. ZRTI has trained 151 probationary Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs) of South East Central Railway, and this year till now 30 ALPs of East Coast Railway, 75 Ticket Examiners of Central Railway were trained said the Principal.
Later the dignitaries gave away awards to 66 candidates who topped in the various courses during the year 2016-17.
