71st Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting held on SCR

Hyderabad Division of SCR also holds 60th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting next day.

SECUNDERABAD: The 71st Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway today i.e. 21st February, 2017 at Secunderabad. Forty Eight ZRUCC Members including M. Murali Mohan, Hon’ble MP Rajahmundry; D. Rajeswar Rao, Hon’ble MLC attended the meeting. The members of ZRUCC nominated by respective State Govts., elected members from DRUCC (Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee) of six Divisions, Public Sector Undertaking, Principal Chamber of Commerce & Trade Associations, Registered Passengers Association, nominees of Hon’ble Minister of Railways under special interest category participated in the meeting.

Vinod Kumar Yadav, GM/SCR speaking on the occasion informed that South Central Railway stands among the best in providing passenger amenities including lifts, escalators, foot over bridges, wheel chairs, battery operated cars etc., towards fulfilling the needs of the various categories of rail commuters. SCR has run several special trains for mega events like Krishna Pushkaram, Sabarimalai, Sankranti festival etc. SCR’s performance during the current financial year has been promising and it has achieved a freight loading of 80 million tonnes during the current financial year till January 2017. SCR is according top priority for safety of passengers and freight mobility. In order to ensure high quality passenger amenities, 68 stations have been declared as Adarsh Stations. Out of which, works at 61 stations have been developed as Adarsh stations and works are under progress at 7 more stations. The General Manager informed to members that MMTS Phase II works will be completed by end of December 2018. He also informed that Secunderabad and Vijayawada railway stations have been selected under station redevelopment programme for developing these stations as world class stations.

The General Manager informed that 36 lifts and 34 escalators are already provided at various important stations on SCR and works of 34 lifts and 16 escalators are under progress towards enhancing passenger comfort. Vinod Kumar Yadav assured the ZRUCC members that their suggestions and views expressed during the meeting will be given due consideration while formulating plans for improving amenities and services. Catching up with the changing technological scenario, SCR has developed mobile apps like HYLITES, TADAAST, RISSTA, App for paperless ticketing, Clean My Coach app etc. DigiPay services have been introduced for the benefit of passengers at Kacheguda station. The members were also apprised of the performance of SCR and developmental works under progress through a power point presentation.

The members appreciated the efforts of SCR and its positive response to representations of members. The suggestions from various members include additional stoppage of express trains at important towns; setting up of more additional escalators and lifts; improving the cleanliness at stations; provision of bus services from the railway stations by coordinating with respective transport sector; extension of platforms; augmentation of trains by additional coaches; construction of ROBs/RUBs; expedition completion of new line and doubling projects; enhancing security o­n trains especially for women passengers.

A.K. Gupta, Addl. General Manager and Principal Heads of all departments participated in the meeting. Prasun Chakraborty, Deputy General Manager (General) and Secretary ZRUCC convened the meeting.

60th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting Held in Hyderabad Division of SCR

The 60th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting of Hyderabad Division, South Central Railway, was also held on 21st February, 2017 at Divisional Railway Manager’s Conference Hall, Hyderabad Bhavan, Secunderabad under the Chairmanship of Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division. N. Srinivasa Raju, Addl Divisional Railway Manager, B.D. Christopher, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager & Secretary DRUCC and other Branch Officers of Hyderabad Division were present in the meeting. Nineteen DRUCC members attended the meeting.

Aruna Singh, Chairperson DRUCC welcomed the DRUCC members and addressed the meeting.  She highlighted the  financial performance of the Division during 2016-17  (till  Jan 2017) and requested the members to support in improving the passenger traffic over the Division and also help support in counseling/educating the rail users in maintaining  cleanliness over the Railway premises  in order to better serve the passengers. Declaration of Kacheguda as first Digital Pay enabled station over South Central Railway was highlighted.

The Chairperson also informed the members on provision of passenger amenities  such as   provision of Reverse Osmosis water plant, battery operated cars, stainless dustbins, water vending machines,  provision of Lift  facility at Nizamabad, up gradation of  Jogulamba Halt in to an ‘E’ category station, additional seating arrangements at Jadcherla through MPLAD funds,  additional Milk stalls, Fruit Juice stalls, Parking contracts,  Pay & Use toilets, provision of POS (Point of sale) machines at stations, etc have been completed during the current financial year. Arrangements made at Gadwal for Krishna Pushkarams during August’16, running of special trains, augmentation of trains by attaching additional coaches to clear rush were also highlighted. Further, special cleanliness drives organised over the Division and progress of important passenger amenity works at various stations were briefed to the members.

DRUCC members expressed their satisfaction over the improvements made at stations, especially the cleanliness at stations, introduction of additional trains, augmentation of coaches, stoppages etc.  The members represented for introduction of new trains, provision of Highlevel platforms, provision of Cover over Platforms, provision of parking sheds, speedy completion of doubling works between Secunderabad-Mahbubnagar etc.

The Chairperson assured the members that their suggestions/representations would be examined within the guidelines/norms in force/ policy guidelines and action would be taken accordingly. DRM requested support of the members to sponsor amenities at stations through MPLAD scheme or through CSR route in their areas. The meeting was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Divisional Commercial Manager.
