Barddhaman Jn (BWN): Union Minister of State for Railways, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, today announced stoppage of Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express at Barddhaman station, introduction of Kolkata-Agra Cantt Weekly Express and opening of newly constructed Dumka-Barapalasi Broad Gauge Line by extending services of Jasidih-Dumka Passenger upto Barapalasi and also flagged off Howrah-Katihar Weekly Express in a programme here at Howrah station.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chowdhury said flagging off of Howrah-Katihar Weekly Express and announcement of Kolkata-Agra Cantt Weekly Express, construction of a Broad Gauge line and additional stoppage for Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (via Patna) at Barddhaman station indicate Railways’ endeavor to provide passengers with maximum possible services.
Additional General Manager of Eastern Railway B K Patel, in his welcome address pointed out the amenities offered to the passengers by Eastern Railway. He thanked the Minister for his firm commitment towards the development of Indian Railways as a whole and Eastern Railway in particular.
