Accord highest priority for Monsoon Patrolling to ensure Safety: GM/SCR says in PHODs/DRMs Meet

SECUNDERABAD: Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a detailed review on Safety,  Punctuality and Freight Loading etc. today i.e., 20th August, 2018 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded through video conference.

The General Manager extensively reviewed the safety aspects on the Zone including monsoon precautions, minor derailments occurring in yards, signal failures, weld failures and works related to station redevelopment, construction of General and  Divyang friendly toilets, cleanliness, tree plantation and Unmanned level Crossings (UMLCs) etc. He instructed the officials to accord priority for monsoon precautions and to intensify the monsoon patrolling at all vulnerable areas to ensure safety of the track. He instructed the officials to watch all the water bodies, bridges by deploying special teams to tackle any unusual situations and advised to make proactive action plans such as keeping optimal quantity of the material related to track fittings etc.

Sri Vinod Kumar Yadav, instructed the officials for speeding of works related to construction of General and Divyang friendly toilets at all the important stations by end of September, 2018. All the DRMs were briefed on the progress of redevelopment of stations across the zone, the General Manager advised them to prioritize the same including redevelopment of Vijayawada, Kurnool and Warangal Stations etc. Speaking on the security related issues General Manager instructed to install more CCTV’s at major stations including Tirupati etc. to ensure the security of the passengers. Regarding cleanliness in the stations/trains he instructed the officials to make better action plan to further improvement. As a part of green initiatives, Vinod Kumar Yadav called on for mass tree plantation over the zone in the coming two months.

On the Punctuality aspect, all the Divisional Railway Managers briefed on the improvement and action plans for further improvement to reach the target. He also reviewed the loading performance of the zone and he indicated several measures to the officials including supply of the empty rakes to the divisions to meet the demand to improve the loading and to reach the target.
