Adopt top level approach in Coach Maintenance: GM/SCR in DMEs Meeting

DMEs Conf @ SCSecunderabad: The One – day Conference of Mechanical Engineers from all over South Central Railway was held today i.e. on 18th July, 2016 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The Conference was meant to discuss the issues related to coach / wagon maintenance and plan of action for the future needs.  Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, SCR addressed the Conference which was chaired by Arjun Mundiya, Chief Mechanical Engineer, SCR.

DMEs Conf @ SC1Speaking on the occasion, Ravindra Gupta advised the Mechanical Officials to adopt top level approach in maintenance of the coaches and wagons in the wake of inducting modern rolling stock into the system. He stressed upon the need for development of smart yard systems to closely monitor the fitness of the coach and wagons in order to maintain proper schedules for the rolling stock. Further, the General Manager directed the participants to improve the quality of maintenance on par with international standards. If necessary audio-visuals training modules for maintenance of new coaches/wagons have to be developed to impart skill sets to the staff, he added.

DMEs Conf @ SC3The Conference discussed in detail about the coach/wagon maintenance, providing clean linen to the passengers, sufficient watering of coaches, maintenance of cleanliness, effective control of pests & rodents and other issues over the Zone.  K.P. Somkuwar, Chief Workshop Engineer, S.S. Mishra, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer, K. Ravikumar, Chief Motive Power Engineer (Diesel), Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineers from Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded Divisions attended the conference.
