Ahead of Obama’s visit, Live Cartridges seized from Welcome Metro Station; three held

नई दिल्ली New Delhi: Special Investigation Cell of Delhi Police has arrested three persons and recovered over 1000 live cartridges from them, a development which could raise security concerns ahead of Republic Day celebrations where US President Barack Obama is the chief guest.

“We have arrested three men and recovered 1,020 live cartridges from them. The arrests were made from near Welcome metro station here,” said Special Commissioner (Special Cell) S N Shrivastava.

The arrested men did not reveal anything during the interrogation so far but security agencies have taken this development seriously and have further strengthened precautionary measures to avoid any untoward situations.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohd Imraan, a resident of Sitapur, Mohd.Sharik, a resident of Meerut, and Mohd.Faheem, a resident of Uttarakhand.

Further investigations are underway, police said.
