Bangalore: Work on Reach 3, 3A of Namma Metro is inching towards completion with oscillation trials on the stretch likely to begin next week.
Though Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) may not be able to meet the November-end deadline of commissioning the stretch, the oscillation trials bring it a little closer to commissioning. Reach 3, 3A is the stretch from Sampige Road to Yeshwantpur and 3A is the stretch from Yeshwantpur to Peenya Industrial Area (9.9km).
”We are in talks with the Railway Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in Lucknow and approached them about conducting trials. Oscillation trials are likely to begin in about a week. Following this, a report will be submitted to the Commissioner of Railway Safety,” Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola said.
”During the trials, various instruments will be mounted on the train to certify safety and speed of the train. On reach 1, we have a certified speed of about 60 km per hour, though at places we can go only at 40 to 45 km per hour,” Kharola explained.
