Bomb threat delays Ernad Express

KOZHIKODE: The Mangalore Central-bound Ernad Express was held up at Kozhikode Railway Station for more than an hour following bomb threat Sunday.

Police said sleuths and bomb squad screened train No 16606 Ernad Express from Nagarcoil following information from Alert Control Room Thiruvananthapuram that an anonymous caller informed of planting explosives on board.

However, nothing could be detected after thorough search, they said, adding the train left the station towards its destination one hour after the schedule.

Its pairing train bound for Nagarcoil (No 16605) too subjected to detailed inspection by bomb squad at Tirur Railway Station but proved hoax, the police added.
