Even before the start of testing of the AC local train the Central Railway is getting requests from advertisers in order to display their advertisements on the first AC local train.
Mumbai: Despite the fact that the Central Railway still has to start the testing of the AC local train and decide the route of its operation, advertisers have already started approaching the Central Railway to make sure that their advertisements are displayed on the first air- conditioned local train.
However, the Central Railway is keen on charging anywhere between Rs 32 to 40 lakh rupees per annum from the advertisers for the first AC local train.
The advertisement rights for the first AC local train will be given by the Central Railway for a period of three years. The rights will only be given by issuing tenders and the highest bidder will be allotted the advertising rights.
A Railway Official on the basis of anonymity said, “The advertisements on the AC local train will be given to a sole company for a period of three years and this will only be done by issuing tenders. The cost of the advertisements on the full local train would be anywhere between 32 to 40 lakhs.”
The Rs 56 crore BHEL AC local train arrived in the city on 5th April and has been parked in the Kurla Car shed ever since then. The Central Railway officials are planning to start the one month trial of the AC local train from May.
