Chairman/RRB/Ranchi warn Job Aspirants not to fall prey to touts & fake websites promising jobs in Railways

RANCHI: The chairman of the Railway Recruitment Board’s Ranchi division has warned aspirants not to fall prey to touts and fake websites promising jobs.

“Don’t fall prey to touts, brokers and racketeers to get a railway job and save your hard-earned money. Get a job through merit and labour. The railway board never nominates an agent or an outsourcing agency for recruitment,” an advertisement published in vernacular dailies here on Saturday said.

“Always check the Railway Recruitment Board, Ranchi division’s official website,, and advertisements published by the board in newspapers and employment news. Do not rely on websites resembling the official website,” the board said.

The advertisement asked people to help nab job racketeers by filing a complaint at the nearest police station or by informing the board at 0651-2462429 and 0651-2461535 or through e-mail at

The chairman of the Railway Recruitment Board’s Ranchi division, M.K. Yadav, said the advertisement was published in the wake of multiple vacancies in the railways.

“Over 60,000 assistant loco pilots and technical staff are expected to be recruited by the railways across the country. Thus, in the wake of massive recruitments, job aspirants have been asked to be careful and register a complaint at the cyber thana if they haven’t received their admit cards despite filling up the forms and depositing the fees,” Yadav said, adding two persons were arrested from Delhi following complaints.

Yadav said, “Our website ( is hosted by the National Informatics Centre and we have not permitted anyone else to use our links/information. If you search for us on the web, you will find at least a dozen more sites that are designed to trick people into believing they are genuine,” he said.
