Visakhapatnam (VSKP): Chandralekha Mukherjee, an Indian Railway Traffic Service 1986 batch officer, took over as the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Waltair division, East Coast Railway. Officer of Indian Railway Traffic Service 1986 batch, Chandralekha Mukherjee assumed charge as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Waltair (Visakhapatnam) Division under East Coast Railway, on Thursday from the outgoing DRM Anil Kumar, who has been transferred as Chief Safety Officer, South East Central Railway, Bilaspur. On the occasion, the new DRM said that she would leave no stone unturned to make Waltair as one of the best divisions in the country.
Mukherjee, who assumed the charge of the office yesterday, has served in the Railways for last 26 years and held various positions in the Zonal railways, Railway Board and also has a successful stint with Ministry of Defense.
In her last posting as General Manager, Passenger Reservation Systems in Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS), the technical wing of railways, she played a vital role in the implantation of the innovative Dynamic Fare concept in the Premium trains. Upgrading of the e-ticketing system to enable faster access and larger concurrent users was also successfully implemented during her tenure.
On the occasion Mukherjee said that she would identify the issues in the division and take necessary steps to solve them. Kumar said that media has been very proactive in covering the important events in the railways in the country.
Mukherjee is a post graduate in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and has acquired M.Phil degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from Madras University. She also attended professional trainings at INSEAD, Singapore, ICLIF-Malaysia, APCSS, Hawaii and XLRI, Jamshedpur.

East Coast Railway Shramik Congress (ECoRSC) felicitated the outgoing DRM Anil Kumar and the new incumbent Chandralekha Mukherjee here.
Speaking on the occasion, E Co RSC Divisional coordinator Tammineni Narasinga Rao recalled the contribution of Mr. Anil Kumar during his two-and-a-half-year stint in Waltair Division. His contribution to the restoration of operations and relief work at the railway station and the staff quarters post-Hudhud would be cherished by the employees. He also spoke of the cordial relations Mr. Anil Kumar had with the trade unions and hoped that the new DRM would continue the tradition.
