Chief Secretary of UP inaugurates Metro Rail Office in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: UP Chief secretary Jawed Usmani on Sunday inaugurated a modern model office for monitoring Lucknow Metro rail project at Awas Bandhu in Janpath Bhawan. Usmani said the Metro work should begin in this financial year and assured that all possible efforts would be made to complete the project worth Rs.1,200 crore by 2016.

Usmani said Metro rail would prove effective in solving public transport problems in the city. He added that all precautions would be taken to cause minimum inconvenience to the people. The office would help in maintaining good quality work and completing the project on time.

The chief secretary also viewed the presentation on progress of various Metro related work. Industrial development commissioner Alok Ranjan; principal secretary, housing, Sadakant; housing commissioner MKS Sundaram; housing secretary Rajiv Agarwal and director of information department, Prabhat Mittal were also present at the ceremony.
