UP CM writes letter to Railway Minister; requests approval for Construction of ROBs

Lucknow (LKO): Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has written a letter to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to approve construction of proposed Rail-Over-Bridges (ROBs) to speed up commutation. In his letter to Union Minister Yadav said that construction of ROBs has started in many places in the state. “Still UP needs nine more ROBs. The proposals have been sent to the Railway Department. A direction from you will speed up the construction,” Yadav wrote in his letter which was released to press on Wednesday.

Of the nine proposed ROBs – four each comes under northern railway and north central railway while one ROB is poposed for East Central railway. “The Uttar Pradesh Government is committed to speed up transportation. The manned crossings are creating traffic jams in many cities. To overcome this problem the ROBs are must,” he said.
