The Railway Protection Force of South Eastern Railway have made remarkable achievements in curbing criminal and anti-social activities in SER’s jurisdiction during the month of June, 2013. During the month of June, Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Eastern Railway conducted altogether 3686 drives and 20,501 persons were arrested under the Railways Act. A total amount of Rs 36.34 lakhs was realised as fine from the offenders. Under the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act, a total number of 839 cases were detected by RPF in the month of June and a total amount of Rs 1.68 lakhs was realised as fine. Apart from the above, four pickpockets were also nabbed in SER’s jurisdiction during the month of June. Two were arrested from Balasore and two were arrested from Rourkela. Moreover, three eve teasers were arrested by RPF personnel from 18030 Shalimar-Kurla Express from Kharagpur Station on the basis of complaint lodged by two lady passengers. Apart from protecting Railway passengers and property, RPF of S E Railway played a commendable role in service of humanity. During the month of June, two minor girls were rescued from Kharagpur and Mecheda stations and were handed over to Child Line Kharagpur and Kanthi.
Moreover, one minor boy was also rescued from Bishnupur station and was handed over to his relative.
