CONCOR celebrates Customer Day – top most Customers awarded

Secunderabad (SC): As a part of its silver Jubilee Celebrations, the Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR), South Central Region, Hyderabad (under the Ministry of Railways) celebrated its Customer Day o­n 7th March, 2014 at Railway Officers’ Club, Secunderabad. CONCOR celebrates its Customer Day with a view to provide a meeting point its officials and all the its customers over south central region and also to recognise the premier customers with excellence awards. Officials from CONCOR and representatives of export firms, import firms, shipping liners, business associates, freight forwarders, major corporate customers and domestic customers from all over AP who use the multi-model logistics services of CONCOR, participated in the CONCOR’s Customer Day in a large number.

P.K.Srivastava, General Manager, SCR was the Chief Guest whereas B.B.Prasad, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, Hyderabad, Anil Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, CONCOR and V. Kalyana Rama, Executive Director, CONCOR, South Central Region have participated as Guests of Honour and gave away as many as 89 annual excellence awards and certificates to the achievers for movement of freight in containers for export, import and domestic needs.

Srivastava, GM/SCR, lauded the tremendous growth of CONCOR in the last 25 years and wished the CONCOR to scale greater heights given the potentials available in the exim. and domestic market. B.B. Prasad, Chief Commissioner, Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, Hyderabad extolled CONCOR, South Central Region, for its matchless service by safely moving high value finished products in containers in a specific time frame immensely contributing to the growth of business and trade and economy as a whole.

Anil Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, CONCOR, New Delhi, in his address, said that the export cargo which met a slump for a while is now picking up. All over India, CONCORregistered a turnover of Rs.4743 Cr. in 2012-13 by moving 2.58 millions containers having high value export / import and domestic cargo. In south central region, CONCOR operates four Inland Container Depots Viz., Sanathnagar, Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Desur near Belgaum and a Domestic Container Depot at Nagalapalli. Setting up of four Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (one stop logistics solution) at Vizag, Karimnagar, Nagalapalli and Krishnapatnam are under process, added the Managing Director. Kalyana Rama, Executive Director, CONCOR, South Central Region, Hyderabad also spoke o­n the occasion.

M/s. Kamala International, M/s. AGI Glasspac, M/s. Maersk Line Pvt. Ltd. were among the top loaders of export / export cargo at Sanathnagar Inland Container Depot and received the excellence awards at the Customer Day Celebrations. M/s. Vedanta Aluminium Ltd, M/s. Jindal Stainless Ltd., and M/s. Hemadri Chemicals and Industries Ltd. were the awardees as the top loaders of export / import cargo at Container Freight Station, Visakhapatnam.
