Lucknow: An MoU between the UP government and Container Corporation of India (CONCOR ) of the Railway ministry is to be signed soon to develop a Rs 4,500-crore logistic park along the country’s longest Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
Giving this information, UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) CEO Navneet Sehgal said that a proposal to this effect had been sent to the state government. After discussion with the railway ministry, the proposal has already been finalised and now a formal MoU would be signed shortly, he said.
Once developed, it would be first of its kind park in the state to be developed over a stretch of 150 acre near Firozabad, which has good rail and air connectivity. Being situated on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, it would give a huge impetus to the economic activities in 10 districts falling on the expressway, claimed Sehgal.
A proposal prepared by the UPEIDA states that UP would provide its equity in the form of land to developers. The proposed logistic park would expose the traders and farmers of the state to international market and fetch them handsome prices for their products.
The 302-km expressway, a pet project of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, would be having mandis, smart cities, film cities on tis both sides and is likely to be completed and inaugurated by October 16, said Sehgal
