Vijayawada (BZA): A high level co-ordination meeting of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) was held on Monday under the Chairmanship of Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar. Addressing the gathering, Mr.Pradeep Kumar said regular meetings with GRP and RPF would help in controlling crime on trains and platforms. He stressed the need for stricter vigil to prevent robberies and other offences. Passengers need a safe and comfortable journey, which is possible when the fear of theft and crime is removed, the DRM said. Superintendent of Police (GRP) Shyam Prasad outlined the need for stepping up vigil both at railway stations and on the trains for curbing the menace of various crimes. He opined that regular joint operations by the GRP and RPF would act as a deterrent to offenders. Additional DRM N.S.R. Prasad, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Ramesh Chandra, Senior DEE Nagendra Prasad, Senior DCM N.V. Satyanarayana, Senior PRO F.R. Michael, and RPF Inspector (Rajahmundry) Sambasiva Rao were present.
