Pune: Chairman of Railway Board AK Mittal stressed on the need to ensure punctuality of trains and cleanliness on the station during his interaction with officials of the Pune Railway Division recently.
Mittal was in the city on Saturday to inaugurate the integrated security system set up at the station with a view to keep check on any unwanted activities happening on the station premises. On the occasion, Mittal also inspected the passenger facilities available at the Pune railway station.
Railway officials at the Pune Railway Division informed that under the newly set up integrated security system, a total of 46 CCTV cameras have been positioned at various strategic points at the Pune railway station. “These cameras help capture the activities on the platforms and other areas of the Pune railway station. Mittal sought information about the working of the system and was satisfied with its functioning,” added the officials.
On Saturday, Mittal spoke to various authorities of the Pune Railway Division and took note of the issues faced by them.
“During his visit, Mittal emphasised that the focus of the Railway administration must be to ensure punctuality of trains and cleanliness on the station,” said the officials. Present on the occasion were Divisional Railway Manager BK Dadabhoy, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Milind Deoskar among others.
