Customs derail Western Railway

Mumbai Customs showed solid fighting spirit to record a 36-run win over Western Railway in low-scoring Group ‘A’ match of the Police Commissioner’s Twenty20 D/N Cup – 2013, played at the Police Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive.

The architects of Customs’ victory was the combined bowling efforts of Bhargav Mehta (4 for 22) and Pushkaraj Chavan (3 for 9), which effectively helped them to bowl out Western Railway for 112 in 17.1 overs.

Earlier, Customs batting first, managed to score a paltry 148 in their stipulated overs. J Joshi (30) Hiken Shah (32) were the main batsmen to get amongst the runs.

Brief scores: Mumbai Customs 148 all out (J. Joshi 30, Hiken Shah 32; Vinayak Bhoir 2/17, Atish W 2/24, Rohan Bhosale 2/30) beat Western Railway 112 all out in 17.1 overs (Prasad Patil 21; Bhargav Mehta 4/22, Pushkaraj Chavan 3/9).
