दानापुर Danapur (DNR): The Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR) on Tuesday organised a function at N C Ghosh Institute as part of 59th Railway Week celebrations. Altogether 303 employees belonging to Group C and D category were felicitated on the occasion.
Danapur DRM N K Gupta gave away awards and commendation certificates to them for their meritorious work during the 2013-14 financial year. As many as 65 employees were given group awards for their outstanding services to the railways.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said Danapur division made a record earning from passenger, freight and sundry segments during the 2013-14 fiscal which is the highest of the division so far. This figure is about 20.3% higher as compared to the earning made during 2012-13 fiscal in the division, he said, adding the division made spectacular earnings in crores from ticket-checking drive.
According to the DRM, passenger amenities improved in the division while new safety measures like route relay interlocking were implemented at Patna Junction and Rajendra Nagar Terminal. Though it was a zero- mishap year for the division, the railways has been carrying out safety awareness programme on a priority basis. The division ran altogether 165 special trains to clear the rush of passengers during festivals while 160 extra coaches were attached to different long-distance passenger trains for the purpose, the DRM said.
The DRM earlier inaugurated a photo exhibition on the Patna Junction reservation counter premises to highlight the achievements of Indian Railways since 1853. Senior divisional commercial manager Amitabh Prabhakar was also present on the occasion which was marked by a variety of cultural programmes.
