Almost cent per cent punctuality in operations over the past year has added a new feather to DMRC’s cap. A recent research conducted by Nielsen, a leading US based global information and measurement company, identifies the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as the fifth ranking “thought leader organisation” in India and the first among public sector ones.
According to Nielsen, it surveys four leadership groups – media, government, civil society and business – to identify the most successful and influential companies.
Reacting to the achievement, DMRC chief Mangu Singh said, “In the last one year, we have focused a lot on the punctual operation of trains without any technical snags or delays. Our biggest recognition is the faith that the people of the city have shown by traveling in our system every day.”
According to DMRC officials, it has achieved 99.76% punctuality over the past year, which is the highest in the recent past. It has also achieved top 10 ridership of Delhi Metro – all over 22 lakh – since middle of 2012 to date.
According to Nielsen, focus was on certain parameters such as service or approach to do business as an organisation, which is pioneer of a new product, building image, reputation and relationships, successfully shaping the operating climate.
The DMRC has moved at a fast pace in the last one year to achieve the huge target of building 140 kilometres of Metro network for Phase 3, which is almost equal to all the work done by the company so far, said Anuj Dayal, spokesperson of DMRC.
