DMRC to undertake Survey for Extension of Metro to Narela-Kutubgarh and to Kondli

नई दिल्ली New Delhi:  The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will undertake a survey for extending the Metro rail network to Narela-Kutubgarh and to Kondli and will consider renaming some existing Metro Railway stations so as to avoid confusion among commuters about the places they wish to alight at.  These points were discussed at a review meeting called by Union Urban Development Minister Mr.M.Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday to discuss issues relating to urbanisation and development of the NCR area.

Naidu also said that the government envisaged the urbanisation plan for various Category-A1, A, B1 and B cities meticulously so as to meet the future requirements for another 50 years that covers Urban Transportation, Water, Electricity, Surveillance, Security and other aspects of Policing and civic amenities etc.  In this regard, the Ministry is planning to constitute the panel of experts committee comprising of officials from Ministry of Urban Development, Institute of Urban Transport, Regional Center for Urban and Environmental Studies, Ministry of Housing and Poverty Alleviation and other reputed organisation so as to submit their report in the shortest possible time to the MUD for policy decisions.
