पटना Patna (PNBE): East Central Railway (ECR) General Manager Mr.Madhuresh Kumar inaugurated a Haemodialysis unit at the railway super specialty hospital at Karbigahiya on Saturday for the benefit of railway employees and their dependents. Railways has introduced a separate nephrology unit at this hospital after a long wait.
According to Kumar, the super specialty hospital has been set up with an aim to providing better medical facilities to railway employees and their dependents of all five divisions of the zone. It has been developed with the latest and sophisticated equipment, he said, adding the hospital is providing both indoor and outdoor treatment to patients from all five divisions of the zone.
ECR CPRO Arvind Kumar Rajak said an emergency unit works round the clock at the hospital. Railways has tied up with a few specialists of the town for the treatment of referred cases from railways under the improved medicare facility scheme. Railways has already decided to sign an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with Patna chapter of AIIMS to further improve the functioning of the super specialty hospital. A new cardiac unit is to be made functional soon, he said. The ECR GM took initiative for upgrading this hospital with a separate cardiac catheterization unit to cater to the needs of railway employees and their dependents.
Fountain inaugurated: The ECR GM inaugurated a colourful fountain at Karbigahiya end on Saturday. The fountain has been set up at a cost of Rs 26 lakh with a view to giving a facelift to Patna Junction from Karbigahiya end.
Quarters inaugurated: Kumar inaugurated the new quarters at New Colony area on Saturday. There are 12 units of Type-I and six units of Type-II quarters for providing better accommodation to railway employees.
