कोलकाता Kolkata (KOAA): Eastern Railway instituted the concept of monthly Safety Award to honour its employees who did diligent work in improving safety in train operation.
Keeping in view, R.K.Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway honoured eleven employees whose alertness and prompt action have resulted in averting possible accident through safety award today. The awards were presented by Mr Gupta in presence of B. K. Patel, Additional General Manager, Anil Kumar Gupta, Chief Safety Officer and other Principal Head of all Departments of Eastern Railway. The 11 employees who were felicitated for their services are S. K. Dutta & S. K. Mondal, Traction Power Controller/Howrah, R. S. Yadav, SM/Liluah, Martaja Sheikh, Shunt Man/Liluah, R. Mondal, Loco Pilot/M/Howrah, Santu Mal, Guard/Andal/Asansol, Naresh Maji & Khidir Baksh, Tech-I/C&W/Malda, Arnab Sinha, Loco Pilot/Pass/Howrah, D. S. Jamuda, Guard/Malda & Vinod Chauhan, Trackman, Sahebganj.
Mr Gupta also awarded various departments for keeping their office premises clean. Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), Medical Department & Chief Engineer’s Office adjudged as the best maintained award for overall cleanliness.
The GM urged upon the Divisional Railway Managers & Principal Officers to take up cleanliness as a mission and sustained effort should be made to keep the station premises, platforms and train compartments clean for comfort of passengers. An awareness campaign is also planned for creating awareness amongst travelling public.
