ER’s Special Security drive to ensure Passenger Safety at Howrah station

Howrah Division of Eastern Railway (ER) organised a meeting to ensure special security for passengers and rail users, with the officers of Howrah Police Commissionerate and KMDA officials.

Consequent upon the outcome of the meeting, measures to improve lighting outside Howrah station have been taken up by ER. Moreover, measures to patrol the Howrah station subway by RPF personnel and active vigil on undesirable elements through additional surveillance cameras have been initiated.

As a significant step in this direction, security department of Howrah Division launched a special drive and apprehended 39 persons for touting of railway tickets and 70 Taxi-touts. This drive would be continued for ensuring better security to rail users within and outside Howrah station premises.
