Fortress checks at Secunderabad Railway Station against ticketless travel

Secunderabad:  The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway conducted “A Fortress Check” against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabad Railway station.

As many as 150 Ticket checking staff and 60 Railway Protection Force Personnel were involved in the check conducted on Monday. The check was conducted under the direct supervision of Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, South Central Railway. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Secunderabad Division, was also present. Several Express, Passenger and MMTS trains which were either originating or departing Secunderabad station were checked. Passengers waiting on the platforms were also checked.

A total of 1850 persons were apprehended out of which 830 persons were travelling without ticket and 840 persons were found travelling on irregular tickets. 180 cases of unbooked luggage were also detected during the drive. A total of Rupees 7.60 Lakh was realized towards penalty.
