GM/NFR hold interaction with MPs in Rangiya Division

MALIGAON: General Manager of N.F. Railway Shri Sanjive Roy today held a discussion with Members of Parliament falling under the jurisdiction of Rangiya Division. The discussion was held at the conference hall of the DRM office, Rangiya.  The discussion was attended by Shri Pradhan Baruah, MP-Lakhimpur, Shri Biswajit Daimary, MP-Rajya Sabha, Shri Santiuse Kujur, MP-Rajya Sabha, and representatives from other MPs apart from senior railway officials.

During discussion Shri Pradhan Baruah requested to improve the station approach road of stations like Gogamukh, Murkongselek etc for convenience of passenger. He also requested to check feasibility of construction of over bridges at stations like Silapather, Jonai etc. He also requested railway authority to introduce a South bound train from North bank of Brahmaputra for convenience of people.

Shri Biswajit Daimary requested to construct flyovers in all major stations under BTDA areas. He also demanded to fence the thickly populated portion between two level crossing gates by barbed wire, so that people cannot cross the track easily. He also suggested that all coaches of local trains should be chair car for better comfort and safety and requested railway authority to introduce a Shabadti type train from Tezpur to New Jalpaiguri.

Shri Santiuse Kujur in his speech requested for improvement of passenger amenities at Tangla station and increase in train stoppage timing.

Representatives of MPs also put forward demands like stoppages of all Rajdhani Express trains at Rangiya, introduction of a Janshatabdi type train between Dhubri and Guwahati. etc.

Earlier Shri Ravilesh Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya division welcomed all and gave a presentation about the activities and performance of the Division.
