SECUNDERABAD: Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway instructed the Officials to take appropriate precautions to ensure passengers safety and ensure the fitness of all the Electrical and Signaling assents during forthcoming monsoon season. He reviewed Safety, Punctuality and Freight loading etc., on SCR today i.e., 28th May, 2018 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers (DRM) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded through video conference.
The General Manager held detailed review of all the safety aspects of the zone and stressed upon minor issues also such as yard derailment, gate open cases, loco and signaling failures etc. He instructed the officials to verify the cause and take more precautions to ensure track safety and further he advised to counsel the loco staff and gatemen etc to reduce human failures. He instructed all the DRMs to identify the flood prone spots and get prepared to tackle any situation. He also advised the DRMs to plan for intensifying the monsoon patrolling. He also advised that all the electrical, signaling installations including escalators, lifts and signaling equipment to be protected well during upcoming monsoon season. He reviewed the ongoing works with regard to elimination of Unmanned Level Crossings and instructed the officials to speed up the work. He also advised the DRMs to resolve the issues related to elimination of UMLCs in coordination with State Government officials.
Speaking on the punctuality he instructed the officials to give priority to improve and advised to address the loco, signaling failures which are hampering the punctuality and instructed for relaxation of speed restrictions to improve the punctuality. Regarding loading he instructed the officials to make better action plans to improve the performance.
