SECUNDERABAD: South Central Railway conducted a meeting with Hon’ble Members of Parliament belonging to both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha pertaining to Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Guntakal Divisions. 20 Hon’ble MPs from the states of Telangana, Maharashtra & Karnataka took part in the meeting held today i.e., 10th January, 2018 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, Principal Heads of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Nanded, Guntur & Guntakal Divisions and Chief Project Manager, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) attended the meeting.
Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them on the performance of South Central Railway. The General Manager stated that the deliberations in this meeting would immensely help the Railways in finalizing the infrastructural developmental plans for the people of this region. The suggestions and views expressed by the Hon’ble Members of Parliament would be given due consideration. Proposals which are beyond the powers of the Zone would be forwarded to Railway Board, he added.
The Hon’ble Members of Parliament complimented the initiative of SCR in convening the meeting. During the course of the meeting, the Hon’ble Members of Parliament raised several issues related to Railway developmental works / services in their respective constituencies. The demands raised by the Hon’ble Members included construction of new lines, introduction of new trains, extension of existing train services, additional stoppages to existing trains, construction of Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges and providing improved passenger amenities etc.
Speaking to the media on the occassion, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav informed that new railway line projects between Karimnagar-Nizamabad, Jaggayyapet-Mellacheruvu-Janpahad, Devarakadra-Jacklair, Bidar-Gulbarga have been completed. Rail Bhogi Kharkhana at Yadgir has commenced.
He also said that MMTS Phase-II project will be completed by the end of 2018. Cherlapalli, Lingampalli and Nagalapalli railway stations would be developed as Terminal stations to decongest the existing stations. He stated that railway is committed to construct Road Over Bridges and Road Under Bridges as part of the Safety Plan in lieu of all the Level Crossing Gates and it has already proposed construction of 100 ROB/RUBs and waiting for the consent of the State Govt. Railways also initiated steps to establish Wagon POH Workshop at Kazipet.
