गोमो Gomoh Jn (GMO): East Central Railway’s (ECR) general manager Madhuresh Kumar, along with a team of officials, inspected Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose station at Gomoh in Dhanbad district on Wednesday.
The inspection, which lasted for three hours beginning around 6.30am, saw Kumar stopping and interacting with various railway employees.
Kumar, who arrived at the railway station at 4.50am on board a special saloon attached to Ganga-Damodar Express, first went to the bungalow of assistant engineer Amit Kumar Gupta near Hanuman Temple.
Divisional railway manager of Dhanbad division B.B. Singh, senior divisional operating manager of Dhanbad Ved Prakash, assistant commercial manager Kanhaiya Lal, senior divisional engineer B.K. Singh, divisional engineer (co-ordination) Sanjay Kumar, senior divisional medical officer L.C. Mishra, health inspector of Gomoh D. Ghosh accompanied Kumar during the routine inspection.
The general manager later visited the route relay interlocking (RRI) building of Gomoh railway station and inspected the new automated system for changing tracks put in place in June.
Kumar also said tenders would be issued soon to develop a railway overbridge at Gomoh, pending since its announcement in December last year.
Kumar, also visited the rest room of Gomoh Railway station and instructed the railway officials to maintain cleanliness there. Later, he met a delegation of contractual sanitation workers of Gomoh Railway station which handed over a memorandum to him, requesting regularisation of services.
Kumar also inspected the Gomoh-Paharpur section under East Central Railway by standing near the rear window of Hatia Patna Super Express.
Meanwhile, aggrieved passengers of Burdwan-Gomoh Local train, who were stranded at Gomoh due to a fracture on the tracks between Bhulidih Halt and Nimiaghat section of Dhanbad division, tried to put up a blockade to stop the special saloon of general manager.
