GM/SCR asks Top Officials to involve in Safety Inspections, call for immediate Remedial Actions in Safety Tasks

SECUNDERABAD: Safety is a continuous process and complacency is not acceptable said Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway. He was addressing a Video Conference of Divisional Railway Manager’s of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad today i.e. 13th February 2017. Principal Heads of Departments were also present in the meeting.

The General Manager in his address called upon all the Zonal and Divisional officials to regularly involve in safety inspections and ambush checks. Officials should adhere to safety norms while doing inspections said the General Manager and asked them to record even the minute details in the safety report with proper remedies for the same. To ensure safety carryout system improvements too wherever applicable he added.

Vinod Kumar Yadav stated that all measures should be taken to ensure safety and punctuality in train movements for the entire Zone. He stressed upon the need to reduce rail fractures, weld failures and other unsafe features at level crossings as part of ensuring safety. He informed the officials to check the feasibility of eliminating all unmanned level crossings by constructing Road under Bridges etc.

D.K. Singh, Chief Safety Officer made a Power Point Presentation of Safety position on the Zone. S.N. Singh, Principal Chief Engineer; N. Madhusudana Rao, Chief Operations Manager; P. Ganeswara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager; Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan, FA & CAO; M.S. Mahaboob Ali, Chief Signal & Telecommunications Engineer; Arjun Mundiya, Chief Mechanical Engineer; N.V. Ramana Reddy, Chief Personnel Officer were amongst the officials present.
