GM/SCR calls for Promptness in arresting Technical failures & Alertness during Duty for Safety and Efficiency

SECUNDERABAD: Promptness in arresting technical failures and alertness during duty is needed to ensure optimal Safety and Efficiency on the Railways, asserted Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway while addressing a meeting to review Safety, Punctuality and Performance of the Zone with Principal Heads of Departments present today i.e., 22nd May, 2017 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of six Divisions on South Central Railway viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded attended the review meeting through video conference.

Vinod Kumar Yadav advised that top priority shall be accorded to safety in train operations and at the same time punctuality should also be maintained. He advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to take up measures to arrest technical failures, counseling of Loco Pilots, Permanent Way Inspectors. He instructed to take special care on Signaling aspect and advised them to come with new ideas to improve the Safety, Punctuality and achieve the Performance parameters set for current fiscal. All measures have to be taken to avoid signal failures and top priority may be given to attend the signal failures immediately. He instructed all the DRMs to give importance to departure timings of originating trains in their jurisdiction.  Priority may be accorded towards maintenance of coaches and to enhance average speed of sections.

Sangewar, Controller of Stores; N.V.Ramana Reddy, Chief Personnel Officer; Dr.K.H.K.Dora, Chief Medical Director; Sanjay Sankrityayan, Chief Security Commissioner were amongst the officials present.

Punctuality of trains has to be given utmost importance and all efforts should be made to run trains on time. He also reviewed the punctuality position of express and passenger services on the Zone and at Divisional level. The General Manager advised all the DRMs that, the Speed restrictions in zone may be reviewed intensively and make suitable plans to evacuate the feasible speed restrictions, which can improve the punctuality of the trains.
