Secunderabad: South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) felicitated eminent Sportspersons & Coaches who brought laurels to South Central Railway and Indian Railways in various Sports and Games at a function held at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad on 27th June, 2016. Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, SCR was the Chief Guest of the function and presented cash awards and merit certificates to – Ms S. Hima Bindu, Cricket; Syed Niyaz Rahim, Hockey; Ms. Kirthi, Handball; P.Anand, Kho-Kho; Ajay Bharathi, Golf; P.C.Vignesh, Tennis; R.S.R.Murthy, Cricket Coach, N.Rami Reddy, Athletics Coach; S.Dhanam Reddy and Ms.Neeta Dadwe, Kabbadi Coaches.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravindra Gupta congragulated all the eminent sportspersons for bring laurels to SCR and Indian Railways and welcomed the newly recruited recruits of sports quota. He appreciated the hard work, sincerity and talent of the sports personnel who excelled in their field. He called upon the new recruits of sports quota to utilise the International standard training facilities available at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad and improve their performances further to get National & International recognition. He also appreciated the role of a coach which plays a vital role in moulding a sports person to reach the set goals. Later, General Manager released the booklet named ‘Sportspersons Guide Book’ comprising guidelines & service conditions relevant to sports personnel working in Railways.
Gajanan Mallya, President, SCRSA & Senior Deputy General Manager, SCR presented a brief report on activities of the association and described the event as a unique occasion which is organised to welcome the 58 newly recruited sportspersons in various diciplines (14 Women & 44 Men) and felicitate the 11 sportspersons/coaches who brought laurels.
K.Siva Prasad, General Secretary, SCRSA & Chief Engineer, SCR welcomed the newly recruited sportspersons for joining the Railway family and called upon not only to perform well but also excel in their respective sports and games utilising the facilities provided by South Central Railway. Smt Aruna Singh, Vice President, SCRSA & Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad was also present on the occasion.
