South Central Railway GM Mr.Ravindra Gupta bats for Modernisation of century old Lalaguda Workshop with improved Coach Maintenance facilities to enhance Passenger Comfort
Secunderabad: Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway advised the officials and staff of Carriage Workshop, Lallaguda, Secunderabad to adopt new technologies to enhance the travel comfort of railway coaches as part of providing better passenger comfort during the travel.
The General Manager undertook Annual Inspection of the Carriage Workshop on 15th November, 2016. He was accompanied by Arjun Mundiya, Chief Mechanical Engineer, Smt Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division and P Uday Kumar Reddy, Chief Workshop Manager, Carriage Workshop.
The General Manager conducted the inspection of Centre Buffer Coupling (CBC) section, Bogie shop; Roller Bearing shop; Corrosion shop; Electrical Repair shop; Lift Lower shop; Chemical and Metallurgical Laboratory etc.
The General Manager was briefed on the working facilities, Manpower availability and output by the workshop officials through a power point presentation by Chief Workshop Manager.
Ravindra Gupta advised that the Carriage Workshop shall be further modernized by means of enhancing infrastructure facilities of the most modern standards. He further stressed, that the Workshop shall rank amongst the top most on Indian Railways.
During the inspection, the General Manager inaugurated a renovated Bogie Shop, Lift Lower Shop, CBC Shop, Computerised BMBC Test Branch, Knowledge Kiosk, Single Car Test Rig, New Corrosion Shop. These new additions are going to strengthen the infrastructural capabilities of the Workshop.
Renovation and Restoration of Heritage Step Well of erstwhile Nizam State Railway inaugurated by Ravindra Gupta, GM, SCR
Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, SCR inaugurated a newly revived 150 years old heritage “Step Well” at Railway Protection Force Training Centre, Moula-Ali, Hyderabad today i.e., 13th November, 2016. Smt Shikha Gupta, President, South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organization also joined the inauguration.
Renovation of this heritage step well, situated in the premises of the Railway Protection Force Training Centre, Moula-Ali, Hyderabad was undertaken at the bidding of the General Manager, in tune with the emphasis of Railway Board towards conservation of water and revival of abandoned water bodies. This well is expected to give a yield of 1.5 lakh liters of water every day. At present the water yield from this source will be utilized for the needs of Training Centre and further extend the water supply to the needs of Territorial Army Camp and 7th Railway Protection Special Force of SCR in the ensuing months.
Ravindra Gupta, GM, SCR also inaugurated Air-conditioning plant of the Auditorium, Gymnasium, Amenities Rooms and Badminton Court at the RPF Training Centre, Moulali.
