GM/SCR stresses for intensifying ‘Safety Inspections’ during Summer

SECUNDERABAD: Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a Safety Review Meeting today i.e., 15th May, 2017 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principle Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded were also participated through video conference.

Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager while reviewing the safety aspects of the Zone, called upon all the Zonal and Divisional officials to intensify the field level checks focusing on Signal, Loco diesel and Mechanical failures etc which are found to be causes of concern for improving train safety and punctuality. He instructed all the officials to take corrective measures immediately to reduce the failures to minimal. He stated that all measures should be taken to ensure punctuality in train movements for the entire Zone.

General Manager suggested all the DRMs to take pre-monsoon precautions well in advance to monitor the track and signals in view of the monsoon season to ensure safety. Further he instructed to ensure the proper watering in the trains due to summer season. He also advised to give priority in finalizing the works related to Pay and use Toilets at Stations. While reviewing the Passenger earnings General Manager stressed upon to intensify the ticket checking during summer season. He also directed the officials to proceed with a proper action plan for increasing the freight loading on the zone.
