Goods train derails in Jharkhand’s Latehar

Latehar (LTHR): Nineteen coal-laden wagons of a goods train derailed between Richuguta and Demu railway stations in Latehar district in the wee hours today, disrupting train services. Senior railway officials reached the spot to supervise clearing of debris, a railway official said. While traffic has been resumed on the down line, the work is going on the up line.  Ajay Kumar, an Assistant Engineer with the Engineering Department (P-Way) of East Central Railway, Dhanbad Division said the cause of the mishap could be ascertained only after investigation.  However it is presumed that some sort of sabotage activity might have been the reason behind the derailment of goods train as prima-facie, it looks that the derailment occurred due to track route change by some unidentified persons.
