Goods Train engine catches fire near Bairagarh close to LPG Bottling Plant – Major Disaster averted

बैरागढ़ Bairagarh (BIH): A major disaster was averted when a goods locomotive caught fire near Bairagarh station, close to LPG bottling plant. As firemen fought to put down the fire, railway officials railway officials closed down level crossing affecting movement of other trains.

The cause of the fire is not known. On Saturday, around 5 pm a goods train was going from Nishatpura railway yard to Ujjain when its locomotive caught fire. It was carrying iron material.

It took over an hour for fire tenders to control the fire. Railway crossing was opened much after 6 pm.

Due to this, Habibganj-Indore intercity express was stopped at Bhopal station while Indore-Jammu Tawi-Malwa express was stopped between Sehore and Bairagarh. Passengers of different trains were highly inconvenienced and stranded at Bairagarh station.

Bairagarh station comes under Ratlam division of the western railways (WR).
