Graft seen in Saudi railway deals

Saudi Arabia’s National Anti Corruption Commission has detected corrupt practices in relation to three Saudi Railways Organization contracts worth more than SAR 500 million.

Nazaha has been referred the case to the Saudi Control and Investigation Board for further investigation. The contracts involved safety systems for the railway network, which are yet to been installed. The delay has led to a number of accidents during the past few years.

Mr Hamad Abdel Qader deputy chief of operations at the Saudi Railways Organizationsaid that his organization will respond to Nazaha soon.
