Guwahati (GWH): Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has received bids from nine consultancy firms from across the country to carry our feasibility study and prepare a detailed project report for rail-based Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project in Guwahati.
The tender for the project was invited globally in November last year. However, several consultancy firms from countries like Spain, Germany, France and South Korea that had participated in the pre-bid meeting, did not respond.
“We are examining the details of the nine bids that we have received so far. It will take another 10 days to get the final validation,” M Angamuthu, CEO of GMDA, which has been designated as nodal agency for preparation of the feasibility study of DPR, told.
The consultancy firms which have sent their bids are AECOM ASIA Company Ltd, RITES Ltd and Ayesa lngenieria Arquitectura, SAU of Gurgaon, Geodata Engineering of Pithampur, Jacobs Engineering India Pvt Ltd of Andheri East Mumbai, Yooshin Engineering India Pvt Ltd of Jasola New Delhi, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) of Metro Bhawan, New Delhi, Egis Rail of Faridabad and SYSTRA of New Delhi.
Angamuthu also said that it would take another one month to complete the entire bidding process and to proceed to the next step. “We are planning to complete the entire bidding process by February. Only then in March can we start the process the feasibility study for DPR,” he added.
The total project cost for the phase-I will be around Rs 14,000 crore. Assam government has announced that the state will spend Rs 1,800 crore on the project.
