Hema Malini writes to Railway Minister on removal of halt for Garib Rath Express at Mathura

मथुरा Mathura Jn (MTJ):  Actress and Mathura Member of Parliament Hema Malini have taken issue with the Railway Board’s decision to remove Mathura as a halt for Mumbai-Hazrat Nizamuddin Garib Rath nos. 12909 and 12910 and have demanded that the decision be revoked.

The Member of Parliament, who had written to Rail minister Sadananda Gowda to rethink the decision, said, “As a Mumbaikar and being a representative of Mathura, I can understand the hardship passengers would be facing and it is my duty to stand up for their cause.”

“After sending a letter (of protest), I personally spoke to the railways minister and he assured me that he would re-think the decision. He told me that there are lot of technical aspects involved, but his ministry would consider it sympathetically,” she added.

Vile Parel MLA Krishna Hegde too has written to the railways minister to revoke the decision. His letter said, “It is an unjustified decision taken by the Railway Board as it is creating problems for a large number of people residing in Mumbai and other regions such as Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh who are frequent travellers and also for devotees of Lord Krishna.”
