Hoax call halts Train near Warangal over Bomb Threat to Swarna Jayanthi

वरंगल Warangal (WL):  Warangal railway enquiry authorities received a hoax call from an unknown person here on Monday, stating that a bomb was planted in Swarna Jayanthi express which was going to New Delhi from Visakhapatnam.

Immediately the railway police were alerted who swung into action and stopped the train near Warangal Railway station. All the compartments were searched by pressing dog squad police and a bomb squad. The search continued for an hour. Railway Protection Force circle inspector Ravi Kumar said, each and every compartment along with passengers’ luggage was checked thoroughly.

Meanwhile, the railway authorities tracked the fake call which was dialed from mobile  number 7207748916. The hoax caller had said  that within five minutes Swarna Jayanthi express would explode as a powerful bomb was planted in the train.

When the train stopped abruptly at Warangal railway station panic spread among the passengers for a while.  Once it was confirmed that it was a hoax call, railway authorities gave  green signal around 7.15pm to the train. A case has been registered and an investigation is on.
