Hyderabad MMTS completes 15 years of services

HYDERABAD: The Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) train services that ferry around 1.7 lakh commuters daily on three different routes in the city viz., Secunderabad-Lingampalli; Hyderabad-Lingampalli and Secunderabad-Falaknuma which commenced in the year 2003 this day, completed 15 years of Operations today i.e., 9th August, 2018.

On the occasion, Shri Amit Varadan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division participated in the celebrations along with members of MMTS Travellers’ Association, Senior Citizens and commuters.

The celebrations were arranged on board MMTS Train No 47154 Falaknuma-Lingampalli, between Secunderabad and Hi-Tec City.

The DRM cut a cake to commemorate the completion of 15 yrs of MMTS services.  A tree plantation program was also organized at Hi-Tech city station to mark the mile stone reached.

Addressing the gathering of MMTS Commuters, the Divisional Railway Manager appreciated the active involvement and support coming from the MMTS Travellers Association Members, which time and again has enabled SCR improve the MMTS services, by means of acting on the suggestions. He informed the gathering that Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR accords top priority for efficient and punctual running of MMTS trains, maintenance of passenger amenities and facilities at MMTS stations, so as to ensure utmost convenience to the users.

DRM Secunderabad with MMTS commuters

The General Manager has decided to increase the number of cars from the present 9 to 12 cars for MMTS services soon, so as to handle the increasing demands, the DRM stated.

During the interaction, the MMTS users shared their views on improving the MMTS services and better the facilities. They opined that MMTS Phase-II which is being readied for launch will also meet positive response from rail users of the twin cities.  A host of MMTS commuters shared their view points and expressed their travel experiences on the social media too.

Senior Officials of Secunderabad Division were also present at the program.
