The rap came from Chief Commercial Manager of ECR Mehboob Rab who inspected the station on Sunday and also found it wanting in basic passenger amenities.
The inspection lasted for two hours, starting from 11.00A.M.
On what promoted the exercise, Rab said: “It is a routine inspection aimed at suggesting measures to increase revenue during the current financial year.”
He refused to elaborate on what made him unhappy.
Sources, however, said that Rab was extremely angry with the littering around the reservation and general booking counters.
Rab, who was accompanied by Dhanbad senior divisional commercial manager Dayanand and divisional commercial manager S.K. Lal, expressed dissatisfaction over garbage lying near the counters and foul stench coming from it. He further pointed out to the layer of dust enveloping the computer monitor and issued instructions to the staff for regular wiping.
When he saw dust and filth on the granite sheet of the counters, Rab said: “What is the advantage of installing such slabs when cleaning is not carried out?”
He had an advice for officials. “You should act like a bania (trader) who worships his customers and not like a government officer.”
