Intensive Checking of Trains and Railway premises for PM’s visit to Bhagalpur

TY04RPF_1_856097fBhagalpur (BGP): Unprecedented security arrangements have been made by the GRP, RPF and Special Protection Group (SPG) besides the district and railway administration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhagalpur scheduled today. Intensive checking of trains and railway premises are underway to keep a tab on mischief mongers. Every train passing through Bhagalpur railway section is being checked by the Railway Police and GRP. The railway authorities have directed their personnel to keep a watch on suspicious activities of people loitering on the railway premises as well as abandoned bags or parcels on the station premises.

Modi will address a ‘Parivartan’ rally of NDA at the airport ground at Bhagalpur. Whereas the entry and exit points of Bhagalpur district through roadways are being manned by security personnel, the district administration in view of the frequent jam on Vikramshila Bridge across the Ganga has ordered one-way entry for vehicles from Naugachhia end of the bridge to Bhagalpur on the rally day.

Two power cranes have been stationed at the two ends of the bridge to remove vehicles in case they get stuck on the bridge. The exit route via Vikramshila Bridge will be opened after the rally is over.

Restrictions have been imposed on the vehicular traffic between Kutchery Chowk via Police Lines towards Tilkamanjhi Chowk and Tilkamanjhi Chowk to Zero Mile and airport ground. An emergency route to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital via Tilkamanjhi-Ananadgarh Colony- Mayaganj stretch has been earmarked for exigencies, if any.

The administration, taking cognizance of intelligence inputs, has also ordered for sealing the border with adjoining districts in Jharkhand. CRPF and STF jawans are being deployed in Maoist-affected areas in neighbouring districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Mock drills and aerial survey of the security arrangements were also made on Monday.
