Bhubaneswar (BBS): With an aim to focus on passengers and rail users, Indian Railways would observe a fortnight-long programme ‘Railway Passengers and Customers Facilitation Fortnight-Rail Yatri/ Upbhokta Pakhwada’ from May 26 to June 9. In view of the above, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) would take feedback from passengers, customers, general public and media across its jurisdiction on passengers’ amenities having direct interaction by railway officials.
The higher railway officials would travel with the commuters to improve the services of the biggest public enterprise of the nation and also interact with the passengers to seek their feedback as well as suggestions on the services being provided to the passengers like food, water, cleanliness at the railway stations as well as in the trains with a motive to improve the services and amenities for the passengers.
Extensive ticket checking campaign would also be launched during the fortnight. Apart from this, safety awareness drives, monitoring of punctuality, cleanliness and sanitation drives at all the stations would be organised. The ECoR has also planned to organise discussions or seminars on constructive themes pertaining to railways, awareness drives on safety at level crossings, footboard travelling, drugging or intoxication in trains and cleanliness.
