IR’s 15-day Railyatri Upbhokta Pakhwada 2015: Ranchi Division officials calls on the DC for transfer of 450 acres

Ranchi: Officers of Ranchi Division of South Eastern Railway, during a meeting with   Ranchi DC Manoj Kumar on Wednesday, requested to arrange swift transfer of railway land’s title documents of Ranchi Railway station and its adjoining areas to it measuring about 450 acres. The meeting was held under the programme Rail Upbhokta Pakhwada observed by the Indian Railways from May 26 to June 9 on the initiatives taken by Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu.

The Railway officials called on the DC under the programme ‘Rail Yatri Pakhwara’ being observed by Indian Railways and explained the necessity to do the transfers in the wake of Ranchi Railway Station being nominated for development as world class station under PPP mode. Significantly, Chief Minister Raghubar Das has already written to Minister for Railways for early nomination of Ranchi to develop it as a world class station. The CM has also issued instructions to the district administration in this regard. The DC has also assured that he has kept the issue on his priority his as well.

Railway officials during the meeting also apprised the DC that Ranchi MP Ram Tahal Choudhary had agreed to provide funds of Rs5, 55,000 for provision of 24, 27 and 09 superior type RCC benches at Ranchi, Hatia and Muri stations under the MPLAD scheme. The DC assured that the administration will extend all cooperation in this regard.

Regarding the doubling project of Birsa Chowk – Over Bridge road, railway officials informed the DC that South Eastern Railway was all prepared to execute the project as per the requests made by the State Government. It was now district administration’s responsibility to arrange recovery of necessary railway land for this purpose with proper evacuation of unauthorized occupants.

During the meeting, railway officials and district collector also agreed to work closely on developmental projects in the interest of rail-users and people of Jharkhand. Closure of unmanned level crossings through safer and superior option of limited height subways, smooth operation of pre-paid Taxi and auto booths at Ranchi and Hatia Stations, activation of Jharkhand State Tourist Information Bureau were few other issues which were identified for facilitation through closer cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Senior Railway Officers of Ranchi Division of South Eastern Railway including Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ramashish Yadav, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Niraj Kumar and Senior Divisional Engineer Vishal Anand.
