Jyotiraditya submits charter of demands to Suresh Prabhu

Jyotiraditya Suresh PrabhuNew Delhi: Guna Parliamentarian and former Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia called on Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday and submitted charter of demands for the development of Gwalior–Chambal region.

The major demands of Scindia include rail line between Gwalior and Guna and electrification of Vijaypur (Guna) to Maksi rail line, besides gauge change of Gwalior–Sheopur rail line and its extension up to Kota. The erstwhile UPA government had sanctioned Rs 3800 crore project for this, work of that should be started at the earliest, he told the union railway minister.

The other demands of former union minister include construction of a retiring room at Shivpuri, a new train should be run between   Chennai–Kota–Jaipur that should pass through Bhopal–Bina–Ashoknagar and Guna, the 11102-11103 Gwalior–Pune weekly train should be made bi-weekly and trips of Jhansi–Bandra train via Shivpuri–Guna should also be increased, the DRC (narrow gauge) train between Sabalgarh–Sheopur should be restarted at the earliest. Stoppage of Shalimar–Udaipur trains should be made at Mungawali station in Ashoknagar district.

Stoppage of Indore –Gwalior–Bhind express train should be made at Badarwas in Shivpuri district. Stoppage of either Bhopal – Gwalior or Indore –Bhind–Gwalior intercity should be made at Mayana in Guna.

Prabhu assured to make arrangements for the coaches of DRC (narrow gauge) train between Sabalgarh–Sheopur while on the demand of under bridge near railway over bride in Ashoknagar city the railway minister assured to send team for technical survey of it within a week.

Scindia said that on completion of all these works the development of works of Gwalior–Chambal region would get momentum and we would succeed in getting place in the mainstream of the nation.
