Kamakhya-Bangalore Humsafar Express scheduled for inauguration in Agartala on Thursday

Tripura Rail Users’ express happiness as state is all set to get direct rail link to global Information Technology hub Bangalore.

HAILAKANDI/AGARTALA: The Kamakhya-Bangalore Humsafar Express, scheduled for inauguration in Agartala on Thursday, will be extended upto Agartala via Badarpur in the Barak Valley.

The train will have 14 coaches and will start towards Bangalore from Agartala at 5am on Thursday. There will be seven stops for the train between Agartala and Guwahati.

The stations are Ambasha, Dharmanagar, New Karimganj, Badarpur, New Haflong, Lumding and Guwahati.

The train has three-tier air conditioned Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches with features like LED screens to show information about stations, and train speed, an announcement system, vending machines for tea, coffee and milk, bio-toilets in compartments and CCTV cameras.

Humsafar Express is the first train to connect the southern part of India with Tripura.

NF Railway sources said the number of times the train would ply in a week would be finalised once the train was flagged off in Agartala.

Silchar – Bangalore Cantt Special Train via Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada

In order to clear extra rush of passengers one special train will be run between Silchar and Bangalore Cantt. as detailed below:-

Accordingly, Train No. 02552 Silchar – Bangalore Cantt. special train will depart Silchar at 15:30 hrs on every Wednesday and arrive  Bangalore Cantt at 10:00 hrs on Friday.

Enroute, this special train will stop at Badarpur, New Haflong, Lumding, Hojai, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangiya, Barpeta Rd, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, Dhupguri, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj,  Malda Town, New Farakka Jn, Pakur, Rampurhat, Bolpur S Niketan, Howrah, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jaipur K Rd, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Rd, Balugaon, Berhampur, Palasa, Srikakulam Rd, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Chennai Central, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore East stations.

This train will consists of AC III Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.
