Akannapet (AKE): Union Minister for Railways Mr.Mallikarjun Kharge will lay Foundation Stone for Medak-Akkannapet New Railway Line at Medak in Andhra Pradesh falling on the South Central Railway jurisdiction at 01:00 p.m. on January 19, 2014. The 17.2 Km long Medak-Akkannapet line, which was sanctioned in Railway Budget of financial year 2012-13, will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.129.30 crores.
The cost of the project will be shared by Railways and Andhra Pradesh Government equally (on 50:50 basis). The function will be held in the presence of C.Damodar Raja Narasimha, Hon’ble Dy.Chief Minister and Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education, Govt. of A.P. The Guests of Honour include Hon’ble Ministers, Govt. of AP – D.K.Aruna, Dr.J.Geetha Reddy and V.Sunitha Laxma Reddy; Hon’ble Govt. Whip & MLA T.Jayaprakash Reddy; Members of Parliament Nandi Yellaiah and Vijaya Shanthi; MLCs V.Bhoopal Reddy, K.Swamy Goud, Paturi Sudhakar Reddy and Md.Farooq Hussain; MLA (Medak) M.Hanmantha Rao and Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, Akkannapet Smt.Maheshwari.
While Akkannepet Railway station is approximately 103 Kms from Secunderabad Jn, falling on the Secunderabad-Mudkhed Railway line, Medak is situated at a distance of 80 Kms of distance.
